TAP WORKSHOP PREP.

I am so thrilled you have signed up the fall tap workshop!

[su_highlight background=”#fbc8e3″]Two hour, in person class lead by Jessica Carney on SATURDAY December 1st @ 1:30- 4 at The Grange- 7203 Simms St, Arvada, CO 80005[/su_highlight]

In this work shop you will develop basic tap technique, be introduced to a single time step and lean the 2011 tony award winning tap choreography by Kathleen Marshall for the fantastic musical “Anything Goes”.

You will have the greatest success if you prepare yourself by practicing the following tap warm up exercises. The more frequent you do these exercises the better and stronger your body will be when you come to the workshop AND your progress will be greater!

If you don’t have a tap floor or a floor you don’t care about getting damaged by tap shoes I would recommend creating your own. It will cost you as little $15. Go to home depot and purchase a wall board for as cheap as $10 here and then get yourself some masking tape or painters tap and tap the board to the ground and you have a TAP FLOOR!!!

You are going to want some tap shoes for the greatest success. You can learn tap without tap shoes but it happens to be much harder. If you are purchasing tap shoes with the intent of using them to really learn and progress I would recommend a split shoe sole. A split shoe sole offers greater movement possibilities.

Before actually tapping I would strongly encourage you to watch through the videos so you know what the expect. Have fun and I will see you in a couple of weeks.
